Objective: Relevant to the environmental issues of our time, examine and debate the conclusions and insights gained from the 5000k Tracks of Giants expedition across southern Africa (May to September 2012).  Explore what we believe to be the “The Last Throw of the Dice” regarding the long-term future and well being of African wildlife.  The workshop will:

  • Include photographic feedback from the expedition
  • Highlight the importance of corridor and trans-frontier conservation initiatives
  • Discuss conservation, economic, cultural and psychological significance of human co-existence with wild animals and wilderness
  • Review long-standing human-animal conflict issues
  • Highlight the required skills for conservation leadership
