Public Welcome to WILD10, “The Trail to Salamanca

  • The Mayor of Salamanca officially welcomes the hikers who have walked from many parts of Europe to Salamanca, to celebrate the importance of wild nature in Europe and the arrival of WILD10 to Spain.
  • 3 October in the Plaza Mayor
  • Open to the public
  • Event will coincided with the end of the Global Intergovernmental Forum on Wilderness, to include politicians and civil employees

ENARBOLAR: Big Trees for Life

  • The Fundación Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente and the Council of Valencia – IMELSA inaugurate in Salamanca the exhibit: Enarbolar: Large trees for life. The exhibit combines science, culture, environment and art, to convey to visitors the unique value of our tree heritage

Message in a Bottle and Brushstrokes At the Brink by Asher Jay

  • American designer, writer and activist Asher Jay— strong advocate for animal rights, conservation of wildlife and sustainable development— will present two of her world renowned collections at WILD10.
  • From 4-10 October
  • Exhibition Hall of the Palacio de Congresos and Exhibitions of Salamanca.

Beatriz Padilla
  • This Mexican-based artist-activist has traveled the world in her Wildlands Conservation Painting Expedition, collaborating with The WILD Foundation and other local organizations. Beatriz Padilla has worked and painted throughout Africa, Latin America, and North America to convey through her art the important role of wild nature and the human connection to wildness.
  • On display throughout WILD10, The Language of Stones exhibition is her latest field painting initiative from El Mirador, the extensive Mayan archeological site excavated by Richard Hansen and his team.

Wild Wonders of Europe

  • A stunning photographic initiative that documents the remarkable return of wildness and wildlife to Europe

  • Three days of presentations, exhibitions and documentaries with some of the world’s best nature photographers and documentary filmmakers
  • Co-hosted by the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP)

The Living Med Presentation

  • The Living Med is an ambitious project that aims to contribute to the conservation of the Mediterranean ecosystem, through photography and multimedia communication
  • It aims to unite three continents: Europe, Africa and Asia, on a shared vision: a promising future for the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable coexistence in this ancestral region. Unique and precious, this project raises public awareness through remarkable and memorable images.

International League of Conservaton Photographers (iLCP) Expeditions Exhibit

  • The mission of the iLCP is to promote the conservation of nature and culture through photography. Photography is a powerful force for the environment, especially when combined with the collaboration of committed scientists, politicians, religious leaders and politicians. The goal is to transform indifference to the environment in a new culture of responsibility and passion for our beautiful planet.

Cloud Forests of Mesoamerica

  • Cloud forests are one of the most threatened ecosystems on Earth. Original cloud forest coverage was reduced 60% in recent years. This exhibition brings us the richness of these terribly threatened landscapes.

  • The International League of Conservation Writers (ILCW) will offer three workshops related to the art of writing.
  • Location: Hospedería USAL
  • Tuesday October 8th, 2013: Using writing to complement your creations (photo, music, painting, cinema)
  • Wednesday October 9th, 2013: The Art of Writing . Through Editor’s eyes
  • Thursday October 10th, 2013: Writing and geography



Julie Cajune

  • Julie Cajune, educator and spokesperson for the rights of indigenous people  presents her one-woman play ‘Belief ‘, in collaboration with the poet Jennifer Finley-Greene and director Linda Grinde.
  • The work is a unique blend of stories of Salish women, the native tribes of Montana, USA, with poetry and live music.

Boa Mistura

  • A collective of urban artists from Madrid, Boa Mistura uses street art to connect communities and have a mission of giving the world its color back. They have completed works in South Africa, Norway, Berlin and Sao Paulo and will now make one of their unique creations on a wall in Salamanca as a gift to the city.

Baba Brinkman

  • Canadian artist, rapper, writer, actor and tree planter. Baba Brinkman, known for his award-winning “Rap Guide to Evolution” will present  “Go WILD“, an original composition created for WILD10.

El Cobo y Enriquito Sextet
  • El Cobo y Enriquito Sextet / Raúl Cobo y Enriquito Sexteto: Enrique Rodríguez (trumpet), Víctor González Aceituno (percussion), Pedro Medina (guitar), Yago Salorio (bass), Jafo González (guitar), Raúl Cobo (vocals) will perform their flamenco fusion new style.
  • From flamenco to a place where there are no borders- these two artists mix together traditional and modern sounds that were born and evolved in this fusion of cultures.

David Rothenberg

  • Musician, composer, author and natural philosopher. David Rothenberg has written and performed on the relationship between humanity and nature for years. He is the author of books like Why Birds Sing, teaching us how to make music with the birds, as well as the Thousand Mile Song, about music and whales.

Luis Paniagua

  • Spanish New Ancestral Musician. Luis Paniagua is considered one of the pillars of new alternative music . He plays the sitar, the ancient Mediterranean lira, as well as many ethnic and percussive instruments

WILDshorts Film Festival

  • A night of short films about the wild nature in connection with the mind and body. Inspiring stories that will bring the stunning beauty of wild places and some of the threats they face.

Film Screenings: Nature & Conservation

  • Each evening will screen a selection of the best documentaries on wildlife and the environment. With presentations and discussions with their directors

Zulu Crafters

  • The Zulu are the largest South African ethnic group with an estimated 10-11 million people living mainly in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
  • A group of Zulu traditional crafts artisans will produce crafts in The WILD10 Tent Expo

Yoga Class Collective

  • The interest and the practice of Transcendental Meditation is the application of yoga philosophy to all aspects of life.,Yoga and meditation sessions will provide hope, motivation and peace to each of the participants.
  • Much of the world is facing difficult times— hope, inspiration and positivity are more important now than ever before.
  • Pending confirmation: HE Former President of Mozambique. Mr. Chissano, brought peace and democracy to Mozambique through the practice of yoga and Transcendental Meditation.

  • The CoalitionWILD Lounge is a space where young people under 30 years will be able to gather, network and develop activities and meetings for a wild planet.
  • CoalitionWILD is an international community of young people connected worldwide. The CoalitionWILD platform promotes innovative ideas, projects related to the field, activities and events, focusing attention on the younger generation, which will be the drivers of change that nature needs.
  • CoalitionWILD will also have an official presentation at WILD10
